The Defence Science Institute for Protection Technologies - NBC Protection (WIS) is a departmental research facility of the Federal Ministry of Defence and is part of the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw). It is the only major German institute dealing with protection against the effects of biological, chemical and nuclear weapons of mass destruction.
