Six hours of teaching a week, throughout the year, at Bachelor (BA) and Master (MA) levels, determined in accordance with institutional requirements, including
Introductory lecture course in the psychology of career guidance (BA level, 28 hours, 3 ECTS)
Seminar in research design and methods (BA level seminar, 56 hours, annual, 6 ECTS)
Lecture course in the psychology of life-long careers and career guidance, precise topic to be determined according to the candidate’s area of research (MA level lecture course, 56 hours, 6 ECTS)
Seminar in the psychology of life-long careers and career guidance, precise topic to be determined according to the candidate’s area of expertise (MA level seminar, 28 hours, 3 ECTS)
Supervision of MA dissertations and PhD theses.
The post-holder will pursue research in the psychology of life-long careers and career guidance, on one of the topics indicated above (sustainable careers, life-long learning, life-long career guidance, etc.). The post-holder will be affiliated to one of the research centres in the Institute of Psychology. S/he will be expected to produce high-quality academic publications.
S/he will seek external funding, in particular from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). Collaboration with the LIVES national research centre on Overcoming Vulnerability: Life Course Perspectives (PRN LIVES) is also possible.
Administrative responsibilities (10%)
In accordance with statutory requirements and in the name of collegiality, the post-holder will take on any administrative tasks that may be assigned to them by the Institute, Faculty, University or university decision-making bodies.
Doctorate in psychology or equivalent;
Good academic teaching record;
Proven research record in one or more of the following areas: sustainable careers, life-long learning, life-long career guidance, social and occupational insertion and integration, resources and vulnerabilities in unstable and shifting labour markets, promoting well-being at work;
Desired experience in practical career guidance and support;
Good international networks;
Expertise in a wide range of qualitative, quantitative and mixed research methods would be an advantage.
