The purpose of the role is to support operating the R&D Informatics data analysis platform and to provide expert support for data scientists, researchers and biometricians across Global R&D functions. The position will also contribute to the optimization of data analysis processes to enable and enhance users to translate data into actionable know-how.

What you can expect

• You will assist our data science community in optimally using the data analysis platform and its edge applications like R-Studio and JupyterHub. You will gather requirements and build solutions.
• You will provide support to our data scientists in optimizing Python and/or R code, fixing CI/CD pipelines, move analysis pipelines to containers etc.
• Additionally, you will assist in optimizing the integration of data analysis platform components with the entire application landscape.
• You will advise teams in the planning, designing and utilization of the data analysis platform, both on-prem as in the cloud.
• You will provide guidance for coding standards and methodologies for specific domain specific programming languages like Python and R.
• You will write user and expert documentation.
• You will mentor and train end users.

• You have a bachelor or master’s degree in information technology preferably or equivalent with 3 years of relevant experience in Life Sciences industry.
• You have at least 3 years coding experience with Python or R.
• You have demonstrated experience working with Linux operating system (Redhat, CentOS,...).
• Furthermore, you have experience with continuous integration and delivery solutions (e.g. Bitbucket, Bamboo).
• You are familiar with configuration management environments (Puppet, GIT and related tools).
• You have knowledge of high performance computing.
• Experience with data science applications in biotech like JupyterHub, R-Studio, CLC, Geneious is a plus.
• You are creative and have an innovative mindset.
• You are a problem solver, a quick learner and have demonstrated project manager skills.
• You are a strong communicator. Our business language is English.
