The Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture is the leading educational and research institution in its field in Central Switzerland. The School offers practical bachelor’s and master’s degree programs and a variety of continuing and executive education programs, and also carries out applied research and development. Research Associate and Senior Research Associate Scientist (80-100%)

We are open to different degrees of background/seniority/experience. The position will be adapted to correspond to the level of experience of the chosen candidate.

Description

  • Assessment of thermal energy systems from building to national scale
  • Characterization and modelling of thermal energy storages
  • Data analytics, data-driven modelling in energy systems
  • Techno-economic assessment
  • Cooperation with industrial research partners
  • Co-authoring scientific articles and participation in academic conferences worldwide
  • Co-supervising bachelor and master theses
  • If desired: Participation in teaching

Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD degree in Engineering, Physics, Data Science, Computational Science or Mathematics
  • Deep knowledge in at least one of the following topics: Energy Systems, Modelling and Simulation, Programming
  • Very good English both written and spoken
  • Project management, presentation skills, rapid familiarization with new topics
  • Creative, team-minded, communicative, and eager for knowledge
  • Enthusiastic about energy topics, development of new methodologies and tackling complex problems
