The Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture is the leading educational and research institution in its field in Central Switzerland. Research Associate / Senior Research Associate (80-100%)
We are open to different degrees of background/seniority/experience. The position will be adapted to correspond to the level of experience of the chosen candidate.
Project coordination and management
Development of novel concepts for thermal energy storage systems for buildings and thermal networks
Further development of dynamic simulation models of thermal energy storages and peripheral components
Planning, execution, and evaluation of simulation and experimental campaigns
Design, construction, and commissioning of experimental setups
Techno-economic evaluation of seasonal thermal energy storage systems
Cooperation with industrial research partners
Co-authoring scientific articles and participation in academic conferences worldwide
Co-supervising bachelor and master theses
If desired: participation in teaching
Master’s or PhD degree in Engineering, Physics, Data Science, Computational Science or Mathematics
Deep knowledge in at least one of the following topics: Energy Systems, Modelling and Simulation, Programming
Very good English both written and spoken
Project management, presentation skills, rapid familiarization with new topics
Creative, team-minded, communicative, and eager for knowledge
Enthusiastic about energy topics, development of new methodologies and tackling complex problems
