The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and the Institute in sport sciences of the University of Lausanne (ISSUL) wishes to expand its team by recruiting a

AREA OF SPECIALISATION: health, mobility and socio-spatial inequalities


In your functions, you will have to do:

Teaching (45%)
Six hours a week of teaching on university courses in movement and sports sciences. The successful candidate may also be asked to provide support for teaching in psychology. The post-holder will supervise Master’s dissertations and PhD theses. One hour’s release from teaching is granted during the tenure-track period.

Research (45%)
The post-holder will pursue their research in the field of physical activity in relation to health, mobility, socio-spatial inequalities and life courses, within the Interdisciplinary Centre on Overcoming Vulnerability: Life Course Perspectives (LIVES Centre ). They will seek external funding, in particular from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). A proven interest in multi- or interdisciplinary research projects is desirable.

Administrative responsibilities (10%)
In accordance with statutory requirements and in the name of collegiality, the post-holder will take on any administrative tasks that may be assigned to them by the Institute, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University or university decision-making bodies.


  • PhD (for example, in social sciences or sports science) or equivalent qualification
  • Academic teaching experience in the field of physical activity in relation to health, mobility, socio-spatial inequalities and research methodology
  • Proven research record in physical activity in relation to health, mobility and/or socio-spatial inequalities
  • Proficiency in longitudinal methodological approaches
  • Good links with national and international scientific networks
