Scientific Assistant / Scientific Collaborator for scientific writing and communication in "Circular Engineering for Architecture" 60%-100%, Zurich, fixed-termWe are looking for a scientific assistant / collaborator with excellent writing and communication skills in the field of digitalization for a circular built environment at the Chair of Circular Engineering for Architecture (CEA) at ETH Zurich.Project backgroundWe intend to foster the exploration and adoption of digital technologies as well as the shift towards a circular paradigm in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) sector. Buildings are complex problems addressed by numerous stakeholders. Automating reuse of materials in the built environment will connect actors across the value chain. Circular economy principles applied in the built environment through automated materials reuse can tackle challenges such as the scarcity of resources, waste treatment, and the climate crisis.Job descriptionThis position will be highly focused on scientific writing in the field of digitalisation towards a circular economy in the built environment. Your tasks will include research management and supervision (30%), scientific paper writing and proofreading (30%), preparing grant applications (30%), and science communication (40%). Part-time employment will also be considered.Your profileWe welcome highly motivated and curious applicants in disciplines related to civil and environmental engineering, architecture, construction, communication, computer science, computational design, arts, or similar subjects and with a strong interest in applying circular economy principles to the AEC sector. Fluency in spoken and written English is a requirement. The ideal candidate should have outstanding writing and communication skills and be able to work in a team, take initiative, be results-oriented, organised, and creative. Filmmaking or design experience are an added value. Candidates with a PhD or equivalent scientific writing experience are preferred.We offer
