We are seeking a Lab / Scientific Technician to support our research group in the Department of Evolutionary Biology and Environmental Studies, University of Zurich. Our research intersects the fields of reproductive biology, ecology, and evolution, and focuses primarily on the effects of social environment, microbiome, or various environmental factors (such as climate change, environmental pollution, parasites, or diet) on the behavior and reproduction of insects.


  • Participation in diverse experiments and independent data collection alongside PhD students and postdocs
  • Maintenance of fly cultures
  • Molecular work
  • Various administrative tasks


  • Training as a Lab / Scientific Technician (Biology) or equivalent education
  • Professional experience
  • Good command of German and English
  • Familiarity with MS Office software
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, with a strong sense of responsibility and attention to quality
  • Flexibility and motivation to adapt and trouble-shoot new scientific workflows
