TENURE-TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR AT ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR * IN PUBLIC POLICY
Description
In your functions, you will have to :
Teaching (45%) Six hours a week of teaching throughout the year in French, at Bachelor’s and Master’s level. Additionally supervision of Master’s dissertations and PhD theses. A release from one hour’s weekly teaching / year will be granted during the pre-tenure period.
Research (45%) The person recruited will pursue their own research in public policy, with a focus on national and European public policy.
It is expected that the post-holder will be affiliated to the Laboratory for Analysis of Governance and Public Policy in Europe (LAGAPE) of the Institute of Political Studies and will collaborate with its members on joint projects. Collaborations with the Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration (IDHEAP) are also encouraged. They will be expected to produce high-quality academic publications.
They will also seek external funding, in particular from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
Administrative responsibilities (10%) In accordance with statutory requirements and in the name of collegiality, the post-holder will take on any administrative tasks that may be assigned to them by the Research Centre, Institute, Faculty, University or university decision-making bodies.
Requirements
In order to complete our team, we are looking for someone with the following skills :
PhD in political sciences, public administration or equivalent;
Academic teaching experience;
Proven research record in the field of public policy;
Excellent links with international networks;
Ability to attract external funding;
Openness to a diverse range of research methods: qualitative, quantitative and combined;
Good knowledge of Swiss public policy is expected;
Oral and written proficiency in French and English.
