Job Description

Your responsibilities

As a Business Analyst you will join the Product Design team within the Business Computing (BC) group , responsible for software in the domains of HR, Finance, Supply Chain and Site Management.
Your mission is to liaise between product management, business partners and end-users. We are looking for a person who is passionate about finding the deeper "why" behind the answers that are given.

Specifically, you will:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and prioritize business requirements;
  • Draw and analyze business processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and optimization;
  • Develop and maintain business process documentation (using BPMN and specialised business process modelling tools), including process flows and user requirements;
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators to track progress towards organizational goals.


Your profile

Skills and/or knowledge

  • Strong understanding of business modeling concepts and the ability to translate requirements into practical solutions;
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data for actionable insights;
  • Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to address technical challenges and provide effective solutions;
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and to present and justify designs;
  • Capability to work autonomously while effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines, and adapting to changing priorities;
  • Familiarity with UX principles and methodologies would be advantageous in this role;
  • Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.


Eligibility criteria:

  • You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State .
  • You have a professional background in Software Engineering, Business Analysis (or a related field) and have either:
    • a Master’s degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;
    • or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
  • You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.

Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.

  • A monthly stipend ranging between 6212 and 6828 Swiss Francs per month (net of tax).
