Job description

The division of Energy Systems at the Department of Energy Technology, KTH, is looking for a full-time research engineer who shall support coding and modelling work for integrated (water-energy-food nexus) assessments for 6 months. The work is part of the EU-funded IAM COMPACT project. The day-to-day work will consist in updating an existing workflow (?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgithub.com%2FOSeMOSYS%2Fosemosys2iamc&module=jobs&id=3007350" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgithub.com%2FOSeMOSYS%2Fosemosys2iamc&module=jobs&id=3007350" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://github.com/OSeMOSYS/­osemosys2iamc) for reporting key inputs and outputs of model applications of OSeMOSYS into the format of the Integrated Assessment Modelling Community. In their daily work, the Research Engineer will closely interact with the researcher and PhD candidate involved in IAM COMPACT from KTH side, to define requirements and desired outcomes, but also occasionally participate in the life of the broader IAM COMPACT Consortium.

Requirements

  • A graduate degree or an advanced level (higher education) in the research subject or equivalent competence. 
  • A graduate degree or an advanced level (higher education) in the research subject or equivalent competence (for example, KTH’s MSc in Sustainable Energy Engineering).·     
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential, as the role involves working in an English-speaking environment.
  • Proven expertise in energy systems analysis and modeling is a prerequisite.
  • Experience in the OSeMOSYS modeling tool, particularly for energy and CLEWs applications, is mandatory.
  • Experience in Python programming is also required.

About the employment

The employment is valid for a limited time according to the agreement - for up to 6 months, with start date according to agreement.
