Healthcare assistants (HCA) have to face professional situations causing emotional responses that are difficult for novices to regulate, thereby undermining professional performance and well-being. Therefore, HCAs should develop emotion regulation (ER) strategies in the first stages of their professional training during vocational education and training (VET). Virtual reality technologies, including immersive 360° video (360°VR), have been shown to be valid tools for eliciting emotional responses. However, the specific technical and content-related features of the 360°VR responsible for emotion elicitation remain unclear.

Furthermore, how 360°VR can be effectively integrated into ER training for healthcare VET has been poorly explored. These are the questions we will address within a new FNS-funded research project.

Your main responsibility will be to promote and conduct empirical research on these topics, including studies using physiological measures. This main position can be coupled with an additional temporary work percentage depending on further funding available in the research team.
