We are looking for a PhD candidate in Medical Science.

Your work assignments

You will participate in the project: "Modulation of maternal and infant immunity by pre- and postnatal probiotic and ?-3 fatty acid supplementation".

As a PhD candidate, you devote most of your time to doctoral studies and the research projects of which you are part. Your work may also include teaching or other departmental duties, up to a maximum of 20% of full-time.

Your qualifications

You have graduated at a Master level in Medical Science specifically Medical Biology, or completed courses with a minimum of 240 credits, at least 60 of which must be in advanced courses within Medical Biology. Alternatively, you have gained essentially corresponding knowledge in another way.

The applicant must be highly motivated and take initiatives and responsibility. Background knowledge and understanding of translational pediatric allergology and immunology are merits. Practical experience in cellular and immunological techniques is required. You have documented experience in cell isolation and culture, analysis of immune mediators in human milk, real time PCR, and with immunoassays such as ELISA, MSD and Luminex.

Strong communication skills in English are required as well as the ability to work independently in collaborative projects

Your workplace

Your workplace will be at Division of Inflammation and Infection , at the Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences (BKV). BKV carries out research, undergraduate and postgraduate education within Health Sciences.

The employment

In connection with your admission to the doctoral program, your employment as a PhD candidate is handled. More information about the doctoral studies at each faculty is available at  Doctoral studies at Linköping University

The employment has a duration of four years’ full-time equivalent. You will initially be employed for a period of one year. The employment will subsequently be renewed for periods of maximum duration two years, depending on your progress through the study plan. The employment may be extended up to a maximum of five years, based on the amount of teaching and departmental duties you have carried out. Further extensions can be granted in special circumstances.

Starting date by agreement.

The salary of PhD candidates is determined according to a locally negotiated salary progression.
