The Christine Kühne – Center for Allergy Research and Education (CK-CARE) research consortium located at the Medicine Campus Davos, Switzerland is hiring a highly motivated

Biobank Manager (100%)

CK-CARE comprises five clinical and basic research facilities in Switzerland and Germany with the main focus on Allergology and Dermatology. The Medicine Campus Davos integrates medical care (with Hochgebirgsklinik Davos), translational and basic research in one place. Patients benefit from individually adapted rehabilitative care, acute diagnostics, prevention medicine and treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases.

We are looking for a highly motivated person to expand CK-CAREs translational research activities within our CK-CARE facilities in Davos.

Description

Job Description – in this role you are

  • training and supervising biobank personnel
  • support in processing of biobank samples, sample management and equipment management
  • responsible for data entry and documentation
  • monitoring and documenting biobank processes and equipment
  • familiar with the organisation and ordering of biobank materials
  • maintaining and creating new relevant documents in close collaboration with the Quality Manager
  • conducting measurements as a service for members of the Medicine Campus Davos and customers
    of Davos BioSciences
  • the main contact from the external biobank facilities regarding all biobanking matters

Requirements

Your Profile

  • Degree as BTA or MTA (laboratory technician)
  • Or degree in Life Sciences (BSc or MSc) in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline (University degree or applied science)
  • Experience in working with human samples under S2-laboratory conditions (incl. PBMC isolation and cell culture techniques)
  • Knowledge of Biobanking and related processes
  • Familiar with ICH-GCP as well as legal and local requirements, preferably with certified training
  • Familiar with molecular and cellular biology techniques (e.g. RNA/DNA isolation, qPCR, FACS, ELISA)
  • Interested in learning and developing additional skills and methods
  • Good knowledge of standard software packages (e.g. MS-Office)
  • Responsible and outstanding organization skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a great team player
  • Languages: English, German is a plus
