Work assignmentsYou will work on fault diagnosis with a focus on mechanical anomalies through monitoring of dynamic behavior. The focus of the research is on fault diagnosis of mechanical failures (e.g. in automotive applications) using, for example, vibration and acoustic signals. Research questions include method development for fault detection and isolation, damage estimation systems, including sensor placement and predictive maintenance. The postdoc position is part of SEDDIT which is a competence center at Linköping University involving multiple academic and industrial partners. An important responsibility of the postdoc within SEDDIT is to manage and identify research projects together with researchers and industrial partners within the competence center. As postdoc, you will principally carry out research. A certain amount of teaching may be part of your duties, up to a maximum of 20% of working hours. QualificationsTo be qualified to take employment as postdoc, you must have been awarded a doctoral degree or have a foreign degree that is deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree. This degree must have been awarded at the latest by the point at which LiU makes its decision to employ you. It is considered advantageous if your doctoral degree is no older than three years at application deadline for this job. If there are special reasons for having an older doctoral degree - such as taking statutory leave - then these may be taken into consideration. We are looking for someone with a doctoral degree in mechanical engineering or similar. We also think you have experience in structural mechanics and dynamics, structural health monitoring, and signal processing using vibroacoustic signals, and fault diagnosis. You communicate clearly with others and have a good ability to express yourself in English, both verbally and in writing. You should also have the ability to collaborate with others to achieve common goals. Furthermore, you should also possess the ability to work with a long-term focus and determination, while effectively managing challenges as they arise. We highly value a structured approach to work, where you plan and execute your tasks in a methodical and well-organized manner. The role also requires the ability to identify and solve problems effectively, as well as see and understand contexts and how different parts affect each other. The workplaceYou will work in the division of Vehicular Systems at the Department of Electrical Engineering at Linköping University. The division conducts research as well as undergraduate and graduate education in autonomous systems, electrification, battery systems, diagnostics and prognostics, and modeling and control of vehicle functions.
