The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – School of Engineering and Architecture is the leading education and research institute for architecture, computer science and Engineering in central Switzerland. The School of Engineering and Architecture offers distinctive study programs in Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Business Engineering, these programs all contribute to the school’s applied research focus on the themes of «Building as a System» and «Intelligent Solutions for the Energy Turnaround». The School of Engineering and Architecture is one of five schools of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, which includes in total 1’500 employees and 10’200 students. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic professional to join our team. The Position starts September 2014. Timely limited position for at least two years.

Research Associate - Swiss Competence Center for Energy Research SCCER (70-100%)

Description

  • Work in daylight- and electric lighting modelling in the framework of the new Swiss Competence Center for Energy Research (SCCER)
  • Optical measurements and analysis of light redirection and scatter by complex fenestration systems using a scanning goniophotometer
  • Proactive role in the further stategic development of the newly established SCCER

Requirements

  • Completed Master’s degree in building science, computer science, physics, or a related field
  • Open to PhD candidature with focus on related fields
  • Expertise in optical measurement and modelling
  • Experience with daylight simulation using Radiance desirable
  • Entrepreneurial thinking and acting, integrity, responsibility and goal-directed work ethic
  • Proficiency in English
