Description

The Department of Computer and Information Science and the Department of Biology are establishing a joint research centre with an interdisciplinary research focus on “Organismal Interaction Analysis”. The core research theme of this centre is the study of the collective animal behaviour. This Junior Professorship is of central importance within the planned centre for data driven analysis and formal modelling of complex, self-organizing collective behaviour of animal groups and swarms in reactive environments. We are looking for a renowned expert in modelling and analysis of spatial and dynamic aspects of complex systems with a clear focus on computer science and applications in the natural sciences.

The language of instruction in our advanced Bachelor and in our Master courses is English.

The appointment is initially for 3 years. Following a positive evaluation it can be extended to a maximum of 6 years.

Requirements

Preconditions for a successful application are an academic degree, a doctoral degree, proven excellent capabilities to perform scientific research, and didactic aptitude. Applicants should possess outstanding references that prove their capability to perform high-quality research in Computer Science.
