The Institute of Primary Health Care of the University of Bern (BIHAM) is dedicated to train and foster the next generation of primary care physicians and to carry out research in primary health care, epidemiology, and public health. We are looking for a

Senior Biostatistician/Head of Statistics and Methodology (60-100%)

to join the Institute of Primary Health Care of the University of Bern (BIHAM; ?url=www.biham.unibe.ch&module=jobs&id=757142" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">www.biham.unibe.ch ).

Description

Duties and responsibilities

• Design and conduct statistical analyses from large dataset using complex statistical methods

• Supervise young and advanced health researchers in their statistical analyses

• Develop own research lines

• Write or help writing research protocols and manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals

• Coordination of team workflow and participation to the recruitment of new team members

• Possibility of teaching

Requirements

Qualifications and skills

• Highly motivated with a strong expertise in biostatistics, including in the conduction of multivariate analyses and meta-analyses, using statistical software (Stata, R, …)

• Holding a university degree in (bio)statistics (PhD or MSc) or any training considered as equivalent (e.g. PhD in epidemiology with a strong training in statistics)

• Good knowledge of epidemiology concepts

• Several publications in peer-reviewed journals

• Ability to work cooperatively in a small team, as well as independently, attention to record keeping, detail and quality

• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills and excellent organizational skills.

• High level of English proficiency

• Fluency in German and French is an advantage

Starting date is negotiable. The salary is based on training and experience, according to the university regulations.
