EUMETSAT, the European meteorological satellite agency, is recruiting a Remote Sensing Scientist . Bringing together the resources of 30 member states, we observe the atmosphere, ocean, and land surfaces from space using a system of satellites 365 days a year. Our data is vital for weather forecasts that help to protect lives and property, as well as monitoring the environment and our changing climate. We want an expert in space-borne infrared instruments to enhance the way we monitor the earth’s atmosphere.
We require an experienced Remote Sensing Scientist to support our level 1 data processing chains derived from the instruments on our satellites. With experience of using hyperspectral infrared tools and data, ideally gained from using EUMETSAT’s products, we are seeking a skilled scientist who can initiate and lead relevant scientific studies. This is an exciting opportunity to define the requirements for future products and services, whilst supporting the way we re-process and calibrate data to analyse our climate.
You must be a team player, with the ability to collaborate with your colleagues and our international partners. You must have strong analytical skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to our user communities.
