Research in semi- and fully autonomous driving capabilities is revolutionizing individual transportation. This field requires new approaches which explicitly consider interactions and possible cooperation between traffic participants. The aim is to understand where cooperative behavior provides benefits and to exploit those benefits for situation assessment, behavior planning and driving support.

Description

  • Scientific research and technological contributions in the field of modeling and understanding cooperativeness, and interaction between traffic participants
  • Application of the researched concepts to behavior planning, risk evaluation and driving support for autonomous or assisted driving scenarios
  • Validation of the concepts in simulations, on driving data, or on prototype car platforms
  • Publication and presentation of research results in top-ranking conferences and journals
  • Cooperation with leading universities and industrial research partners

Requirements

  • PhD or an excellent Master of Science degree, and experience in a related field
  • PhDs should have a proven track record of excellent research and the ability to define a research agenda contributing to our vision
  • Applicants holding a master’s degree have the possibility to pursue a PhD in cooperation with academic partner institutions
  • Experience with automotive systems or simulation frameworks is highly regarded
  • Background in related fields like driving situation analysis, risk estimation or behavior prediction is a plus
  • Strong programming skills in C, C++ and Python
