The Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture is the leading educational and research institution in its field in Central Switzerland. The School offers practical bachelor’s and master’s degree programs and a variety of continuing and executive education programs, and also carries out applied research and development. It is one of six Schools making up the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts with its 1,600-plus staff and around 10,800 degree and continuing education students.
The iHomeLab is the leading Swiss research center for building intelligence. An interdisciplinary team with 25 electrical, electronic and software engineers, physicists and mathematicians research the application of the newest technologies, such as Wireless Sensor Networks, Internet of Things (IoT), Ambient Intelligence and Machine Learning for increased safety, security, energy flexibility and comfort in buildings.
To strengthen our team, and further develop the research center, we are looking for excellent candidates available immediately, or on agreement as
Research Team Leader for IoT in Building Systems
Leading and further developing the research group IoT, including responsibility for projects, quality, personnel and finances.
Acquisition, management and execution of application oriented research and development projects.
Teaching in the department of electrical engineering with a focus on embedded software engineering
Supervision of student projects and Bachelors theses
Active involvement in the development of the iHomeLab, department and curriculum
Masters in Electrical, Electronic or Software engineering. PhD is an advantage
Excellent track record in the area of the «Internet of Things» or related technical areas
Open, winning personality, able to work in and lead interdisciplinary teams
Experience in team leadership and Project Management in R&D
Broad experience working in industry
German and English Language skills mandatory
Embedded within the iHomeLab research center, we offer an attractive position as «Dozent», with the possibility of promotion to Professor, in an exciting professional work environment with excellent infrastructure. You have the opportunity to develop your own ideas and proposals in both research and teaching. You will take over a small team with existing projects, and can position yourself and the team nationally and internationally. The iHomeLab, and your place of work are on our attractively situated campus in Horw, Luzern.
