Project NETTLE: An exciting look into the research lab
We visit Sabrina Vorderegger in the Biomedical Sciences research laboratory at SALK. Sabrina started as a researcher at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences in February, she was hired specifically for the Interreg project NETTLE. The aim of the project is to obtain natural extracts from various alpine plant species with interesting biological activities that are typical of the Austrian-Italian border region.

The heating and cooling requirements of residential buildings account for around a quarter of total energy consumption worldwide. This is where the BIO-NRG-STORE research project at the Kuchl Campus of the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences comes in. An international team is researching how the use of biogenic materials can achieve a reduction in energy consumption.
