On 19 - 21 September, members of the Law & Development Research Group participated in the 3 rd Annual Conference of the Law & Development Research Network ( LDRn ), hosted by the Van Vollenhoven Institute for Law, Governance & Society of the Leiden University Law School. Prof. Wouter Vandenhole convened a panel and a workshop on human rights-based approaches to development , which included presentations from research group members Dr. Rachel Hammonds, Dr. Gamze Erdem Türkelli, dr. Arne Vandenbogaerde and Deborah Casalin. Prof. Liliana Lizarazo Rodriguez convened a panel on corporations, investment and law and development , and presented a paper on human rights impact assessments of trade and investment agreements. In a panel on access to justice for development in Africa , Isabela Warioba also presented on the practical challenges of implementing the disabilities act in Tanzania.
