We focus on John Dodgson House, a recently refurbished UCL hall opened for the 2023/2024 academic year. Louis Jacobs, Head of Operations at UCL Accommodation, said 'We are so pleased to reopen John Dodgson House. This targeted refurbishment work has given us an opportunity to upgrade systems, use sustainable materials and ensure that the building is more energy efficient.'  John Dodgson House has been fitted with solar panelling to provide renewable electricity, energy efficient boilers, and LED lightbulbs to increase the energy efficiency of the building. The modern additions to this building are accompanied by new electric panel heaters, offering heat distribution throughout student rooms, and reducing the previous energy use from 3kwh to 2kwh. All student bedrooms in John Dodgson House have been fitted with Fusion Furniture Solutions' new ReForm mattress range. This range of foam mattresses provide higher levels of quality and comfort, as well as eco-friendly solutions, which include:  - Made from 95% recycled materials  100% recyclable  Lasts twice as long as conventional open coil spring mattresses  - The new mattresses have a replaceable zip-cover, which protects student bedding from allergens and will extend the lifecycle of the bedding.
