Speaker
Souleymane Bachir Diagne, professor of philosophy at Columbia University in the city of New York and director of the Institute of African Studies (IAS) , is a philosopher specializing in the history of science and Islamic philosophy. His talk on religious plurality in Islam will be followed by a discussion of diversity and cosmopolitanism in contemporary religious landscapes. Souleymane Bachir Diagne’s work provides an opportunity to reflect on the place of religious actors in today’s societies and, in the face of shifting political contexts, on our ability (or lack of it) to think together, beyond particularisms.Moderators
