Researchers awarded Advance Queensland Industry Research Fellowships

Nine University of Queensland researchers have been awarded $2.1 million through the 2024 Advance Queensland Industry Research Fellowships program.

program aims to drive a resilient and inclusive Queensland economy by supporting research collaborations with industry partners.

Fellowships have been awarded to early and mid-career researchers who will lead a range of projects, from developing AI kits for drug screening to improving materials for lithium-ion batteries.

Advance Queensland Industry Research Fellowship recipients from UQ:


    Dr Ramprakash Ananthapadmanaban - developing critical technologies for supersonic-combustion engines.

    Dr Miaoqiang Lyu - developing low-cost, efficient indoor solar cells to enable self-powered electronic products, such as smart home sensors.



The fellowships are part of the Advance Queensland - Innovation for a Future Economy 2022-2032 Roadmap.
