Aix-Marseille Université (AMU) and the Bouches-du-Rhône Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (SDIS 13) have signed a framework agreement for the first time to formalize their collaboration, in the presence of Éric Berton, President of Aix-Marseille Université, Richard Mallié, President of the SDIS 13, Grégory Allione, Comptroller General, Departmental Director of the Bouches-du-Rhône Departmental Fire and Rescue Service, and Charlie Barla, Director of the CISAM.

This cooperation will enable the development of common lines of work: with a view to increasing the potential for innovation in the firefighting community and fire and rescue service agents on the one hand, and to meet the need for applied research for the academic world and associated companies on the other. In this agreement, AMU and SDIS 13 have together defined 4 main areas of collaboration:
- Research and valorization, - The acculturation of the student world to civil protection, - The development of a new approach to civil protection - Training exchanges between the two Parties.

About SDIS 13 The Bouches-du-Rhône departmental fire and rescue service is a strong unit of 7,120 men and women committed to defending property, people and the environment on a daily basis (4,800 volunteer firefighters, 1,260 professional firefighters, 415 administrative and technical agents and 645 young firefighters). This departmental corps relies on 60 operational units which constitute a significant territorial network, enabling the Fire Brigade to carry out nearly 158,000 interventions per year. The Firefighters13 thus provide many missions: personal assistance, the fight against urban fires, industrial fires, forest fires but also chemical, radiological risk.
