University of Nottingham plays vital role in strategic partnership to support collaborations with China

The University of Nottingham represented UK universities and signed a major research agreement with China during a 'High-Level People to People Dialogue' event which was held recently in Beijing. The People to People Dialogue is seen as a key pillar in the UK-China relationship, providing a forum to celebrate ties between the two countries, and a platform from which to drive greater co-operation and ambition. Helping to make businesses more innovative - The second UK-China High-Level People to People Dialogue involved a range of collaborative agreements across basic education, vocational education, higher education and research, language teaching and learning, and personnel exchanges. Professor Hai-Sui Yu, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) at The University of Nottingham, represented the UK universities at the People to People event, where he explained the role that British universities can play in helping to make businesses more innovative and competitive through the exchange of knowledge and technology. During the event, Professor Hai-Sui Yu also signed a memorandum of understanding on behalf of The University of Nottingham with the National Remote Sensing Centre of China. The agreement, which will see the two parties agreeing to work together on earth observation and geospatial sciences, was witnessed by David Willetts, UK Minister for Universities and Science.
