Roadworks between Byng Place and Gordon Square will start on Monday 3 January and are anticipated to last up to two weeks. The cycle path and one traffic lane on Gower Street will be closed for the next phase of works for 21 days at the start of Second Term.
This work is being undertaken to facilitate the expansion of Euston Station, and not on UCL’s behalf. The first package (from Tuesday 3 January 2023 for approximately 14 days) will upgrade cabling at the junction of Gordon Square and Byng Place. The second package, lasting three weeks from 9 January 2023-30 January 2023, will proceed along the cycle path on Gower Street. Gower Street’s cycle lane and one traffic lane will be closed from Gower Place south to Torrington Place, by the Roberts Engineering building.
If you are using any of the affected roads for your journey please look out for, and follow, the temporary rules on the road-side signage.
UCL has been advised by the contractors that the works will cause minimal disruption, however if you have any concerns about the work, please contact HS2 on freephone 08081 434 434 or. We will do our best to keep you updated about any potential disruption, but dates may be subject to change and works may be delayed or brought forward at very short notice.
