The fifth issue of DIDIT journal has been published

The fifth issue of the journal ’DIDIT. Didattica dell’italiano. Studi applicati di lingua e letteratura’ (Teaching Italian. Applied studies of language and literature) is now online, focusing on linguistic variation and the different varieties of language.

On the fiftieth anniversary of the Ten Theses of GISCEL (1975-2025), the fifth issue of the journal is dedicated to linguistic variation and the different varieties of language, with the aim of emphasising not only their scientific relevance, but also their important educational and civic value for today’s schools.

Although the school and teaching context is often still considered rigid and structured according to traditional patterns, this view contrasts with the challenges posed by the growing focus of language education on diachronic, diatopic, diaphasic, diastratic and diamesic varieties. These, in fact, can raise a series of difficult questions regarding the most effective approaches to promoting a more complete development of language skills, particularly communicative skills.

The contributions in this issue revolve around this general theme, with three in the Studies and Research section and three in the Teaching Experiences section, in addition to reviews and recommendations of works and tools useful for updating teaching strategies with original and current ideas.

To coincide with the release of the fifth issue of the journal, a call for papers has been launched for contributions to the sixth issue, dedicated to a topic of ever-great interest and relevance: errors from a teaching perspective. The deadline for submissions is 15 May 2026.
