The University of Iowa Department of Anesthesia is seeking qualified anesthesiologists with interest and expertise in a variety of clinical areas to join our team. The Department of Anesthesia is seeking Faculty Anesthesiologists for appointment on the Clinical or Tenure Track at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank, depending on qualifications.

Responsibilities of this position include:

• Teach medical students, residents, and fellows in the field of Anesthesia


• Provide didactic instruction in the field of Anesthesia


• Provide training in the field of Anesthesia


• Staff Medical clinics and treatment centers and provide anesthesiologic patient care


• Conduct clinical research in the field of Anesthesia


• Provide comprehensive clinical care with a broad spectrum of ongoing research activities

Education Requirement:

• Qualified candidates must show successful completion of a 48-month Anesthesia residency program


• Candidates must hold an MD, DO, or equivalent degree

Required Qualifications:

• Licensure in the State of Iowa


• Candidates must be board-certified in Anesthesiology (or non-US Board equivalent) or be in the certification process (pending completion of residency or fellowship). On occasion, individuals trained outside of the United States who are certified by an equivalent national certification group may be considered

Certifications:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification

Desirable Qualifications:

• Fellowship training or equivalent clinical experience in any of the subspecialty areas
