2011 Graduates: Dr Lachlan Blackhall
Lachlan left a great legacy behind when he graduatedĀ from ANU with an Engineering PhD. The founder of Innovation ACT, Lachlan has seen the business planning competition go from strength to strength since it began in 2008 as Innovation ANU. With his entrepreneurial interest in bridging the gap between universities and business, Lachlan developed the program with college friends for ANU and UC students and staff to learn new skills and to promote a mutual respect between businesses and researchers. Originally involving about 50 participants, the program now attracts more than 150 people, with a new team now at the helm. His award-winning research focused on trying to understand electricity networks for the upcoming renewable energy influx. Lachlan is now furthering this work.
