2011 Graduates: Luke Batten

A promising and passionate young freelance designer, Luke's talents have seen him contribute to a range of commercial items from thermometers, soccer accessories and medical disinfecting equipment to silicone baking trays and a baby rocker. When he wants to let his artistic juices flow, he works on graphic designs for skateboards, clothing and jewellery. Enjoying the challenge of resolving every millimetre of product design, Luke came to ANU with a desire to learn how to make things and see them through from design to creation. He also walked away with the ANU Materials Award to add to his armful of recognitions. Luke aims to develop items that are purposeful, meaningful, responsible and positively engaging. And they look great too.
