A different class - the University on YouTube EDU

The University of Nottingham has become one of Europe's first universities to join Google's newly launched European video platform - YouTube EDU. YouTube EDU is a unique service within YouTube, and gives users access to academically rich content, taking top quality education to the masses. The University of Nottingham's own channel has already attracted significant attention. Its initial collection of 79 videos, covering a wide range of subjects, has already clocked up close to 11,000 views. The University's videos include; an historic World War II archaeological dig at Wollaton Hall, a lesson from Monty Python co-founder Terry Jones, a trip to Antarctica for two students, reasons why you can't do without an anatomy cookbook and a recreation of the moon landing amongst others. Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Internationalisation, Professor Christine Ennew, said: "We have already shown and continue to show a commitment to being a truly global University, and we are delighted to be joining other top universities on YouTube EDU. "YouTube EDU will perfectly complement our own open-learning programmes like U-Now.
