ANU Vice-Chancellor Professor Ian Chubb has congratulated all Australian Research Council (ARC) Major Grants recipients - especially those connected to the 105 ANU research projects announced today. Professor Ian Chubb said: ?ANU has received funding for 92 Discovery Project grants and 12 Linkage projects, as well one of only nine Discovery Indigenous Researchers Development grants, bringing the total for ANU researchers to $38.6 million in grants. ?For Discovery grants this a 30 per cent success rate, compared with national average of 22 per cent and 24 per cent for Group of Eight universities. ?Our per capita success rate is excellent. ?These grants demonstrate the research strength of the University. ?All our successful applicants can be proud of this excellent achievement. ?It is due recognition of the hard work, commitment and the quality of their work. 'ANU was founded to work on long-term issues of national and international significance.
