ANU congratulates new Chief Scientist Chubb

ANU Vice-Chancellor Professor Ian Young has congratulated Professor Ian Chubb for his appointment as Chief Scientist of Australia. Professor Young said that Professor Chubb - the former Vice-Chancellor at ANU - was an excellent choice for the position and would serve the country and science admirably. 'Ian Chubb is the right choice for Chief Scientist of Australia. I can think of no Australian better qualified, and I heartily congratulate him on his new role,' said Professor Young. ?Throughout his career, Professor Chubb has been a strong advocate for science, scientists and better-informed public debate. An eminent scientist himself, he has the respect of his peers, the education sector and throughout government. 'The Chief Scientist needs to highlight the growing role that science plays in our daily lives and offer solutions to some of humanity's biggest challenges.
