ANU experts join Academy Council

ANU Nobel Laureate Professor Brian Schmidt has been elected to the Council of the Australian Academy of Science. Professor Schmidt will fill the vacancy left by ANU nanotechnology and photonics expert Professor Chennupati Jagadish who will take on the role of Secretary for Physical Sciences. "We are delighted to have such high calibre new members of Council," President of the Academy Professor Suzanne Cory said. The new Councillors will assume their roles at the Australian Academy of Science Annual General Meeting at the Shine Dome in May next year.
