ANU gives new commitment to support breastfeeding on campus
ANUÂ has given a new commitment to improving breastfeeding facilities around campus. The commitment comes after a new report to the University from the Supporting Breastfeeding at ANU Working Group in support of breastfeeding at ANU. ANU Pro Vice-Chancellor (University Experience) Professor Richard Baker said the University was committed to providing a family-friendly workplace. "We want to ensure the University enables all parents to balance work and family commitments, and making sure women can access facilities for breastfeeding is an important part of that commitment," Professor Baker said. He said ANU had made significant progress in recent years in support of breastfeeding. The University now has eight parenting rooms with a five-star rating across campus. The Supporting Breastfeeding at ANU Working Group has also produced materials to help mothers, including a checklist and maps of parenting rooms across campus.
