ANU to launch new space technologies

ANU has won a $3.1 million grant for the Federal Government to help propel Australian satellite technology into the furthest reaches of deep space. Through the funding the University will partner with national and international industry bodies to develop a better propulsion system for satellites and deep-space missions. The grant will also help build a space simulation facility at ANU which will be used as a research hub for space scientists, astronomers and industry bodies seeking to develop space equipment. The grant forms part of a $6.1 million investment in space research and education announced today by Innovation Minister, Senator the Hon Kim Carr. Read more on Minister Carr's website.
