Professor Ian Chubb is presented with his certificate by Indiana University President Professor Michael McRobbie.
ANU Vice-Chancellor Professor Ian Chubb has been awarded the Thomas Hart Benton Mural Medallion from Indiana University (IU). The award is the highest recognition IU can present to external people. The award was presented to Professor Chubb by Indiana University President Professor Michael McRobbie at a ceremony at the Australian Embassy in Washington, USA, last week. Professor Chubb won the award in recognition for his distinguished achievements in higher education, nationally and internationally, and specifically in partnership with IU. 'That The Australian National University continues to be recognised as one of the leading and most highly-ranked universities in the world is due in large measure to the leadership and drive of Ian Chubb,' said President McRobbie. 'During his presidency, he accomplished a major re-invigoration of ANU that has kept it at the forefront of international higher education. I am especially pleased that such a productive relationship is developing between ANU and IU.' Over the past two years the two universities have developed a significant and close partnership, including the establishment of the IU-ANU Pan Asia Institute, which brings together each institution's expertise in the different parts of Asia, and signing an agreement to offer an advanced degree in Translational Science.
