Arts Graduate Employment Showcase
A host of art industry experts, including the founder of leading women’s magazine Grazia, will be coming to Plymouth to advise students and graduates on how they can get creative with their careers. Around 1,000 students and city-based graduates are expected to attend the Arts Graduate Employment Showcase to hear first hand from writers, illustrators, theatre directors and other professionals about the types of employment and development opportunities open to them. Dawn Bebe, founder of Grazia magazine and Managing Director of the new social media website OSOYOU.com, will be one of the keynote guests sharing their experiences and wisdom at the event. Anna Steinburg, an illustrator for a host of national titles including The Sunday Telegraph Magazine, The Guardian and Radio Times, and popular author Babs Horton, will also attending. Marc Lintern, Head of Employability at the University of Plymouth, said: “The Arts Showcase is all about pointing students and graduates in the right direction and helping them to see the available pathways that suit their interests and qualifications. The event is being held in the Roland Levinsky Building on 24 March, from 11am – 4pm, and is open to members of the public. Attendees will be able to meet the special guests, tour the exhibition stands, and speak to members of the University’s own Formation Zone community – a business pre-incubation facility for start up companies in the creative industries.
