Children create storytelling chair for the Lindisfarne Gospels exhibition A highly creative and colourful storytelling chair has been installed at Durham University's Palace Green Library this week. The chair will be a focal point of the interactive gallery within the Lindisfarne Gospels exhibition where it will take centre-stage in the Wolfson Gallery to create an area where children can read and be read to. The eye-catching and imaginative piece of furniture has been created by children from St Mark's School in Westerhope, Newcastle with the help of local artist Alison Ashton as part of the University's outreach activities around the exhibition. The aim of the chair is to encourage both young and old to sit and look at a book, to make up their own story or to tell a story.
