Communicating science: a book and a podcast

How to communicate science - whatever the field - easily and effectively to a wide range of audiences - The book "Communicating science to the public" and its podcast "Savoirs partagés" provide the answers.

Sharing science with society has become a leitmotiv for many researchers. The question today is no longer "why communicate science? but "how? The book Communicating Science to the Public and its podcast Savoirs partagés provide answers and ideas for action, particularly for researchers wishing to start or improve their skills in science outreach. They can be discovered together or independently of each other.

The book

Published by Editions de l’Université de Bruxelles, Communiquer la science aux publics. Savoirs partagés pinpoints the questions to ask before embarking on a scientific mediation activity; using concrete examples, it gives techniques and tips for communicating easily and effectively; it reviews the different forms that successful communication can take; it discusses the place of emotion and art.

The book concludes with a summary of the key concepts, translated into graphic facilitation by illustrator Vincent Rif.
