In order to prevent the further spread of the Corona Virus, access to all buildings of the TU Wien is only possible to maintain the absolutely necessary. Social contacts should and must be avoided as far as possible at TU Wien in the interest of our health!
Emergency operation means for...
- Research: Research activities therefore take place - apart from a few long-term experiments, see below - exclusively via home office.
- Long-term experiments: According to § 12 of the Central Laboratory and Workshop Regulations ( part of the Statutes of TU Wien ) long-term experiments have to be reported BEFORE they start. Long-term experiments reported in this way must be reduced to a minimum. Long-term experiments that have not already been reported before 16 March 2020 in accordance with the Central Laboratory and Workshop Regulations, and the reporting of new long-term experiments are not possible until further notice.
- Teaching: Teachers who need to come to the TU Wien for streaming, recording or similar purposes to maintain distance learning, report this by specifying the time and the required room resource via email@example.com. This also enables access to the corresponding building by the security service.
- Journal Service: Furthermore, access to buildings of the TU Wien is only possible for the maintenance of emergency operation. Journal services are to be reduced to an absolute minimum and restricted to activities necessary for operation (such as getting mail, invoices, etc. once a week).
Deans and members of the rectorate are requested to name key persons who have to carry out absolutely necessary work on site for system maintenance (e.g. secretaries, technicians, IT administrators), but a maximum of 15 persons per faculty/rectorate department. Access can only be granted to these named employees. Those key persons who are authorized by the Dean/Vice Rector to pick up mail must be marked separately.
Thank you in advance for your support in dealing with the situation.
