Durham ranked as top five UK University Durham University has once again been recognised as one of the UK's leading universities, according to a new league table. The Complete University Guide 2015, which ranks 123 British universities, named Durham as the country's fifth best university for the fourth year running. In separate tables covering 67 subjects, Durham was in the top ten nationally for all of the courses it offers, with nine subjects topping the table. English, French, German, History, Iberian Languages, Middle Eastern and African Studies, Russian, Sports Science, and Theology and Religious Studies were all ranked first in their field.
