Durham Teaching Staff Rewarded for Excellence

The winners of the Excellence in Learning and Teaching Awards have just been announced, following a number of high-calibre applications. The Excellence in Learning and Teaching Awards recognise and reward individuals or groups of staff who have made an outstanding contribution to learning and teaching at Durham within undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. There were seven award-winning applications, from across the University faculties and departments. Although the winning applications were diverse in nature, each demonstrated to the panel a commitment to engaging students and developing the curriculum in a meaningful way. The winners were: Dr Sam Nolan, Assistant Director in Human Resources, commented: "Year after year we are taken aback by the exceptionally high quality of the applications for the Excellence in Learning and Teaching Awards, which makes the selection process incredibly challenging. "This year's winners reflect the diversity of teaching talent across the University and the commitment of our staff to delivering innovative and inclusive learning opportunities for students. Huge congratulations to all the award winners." Dr Jacquie Robson works to support students in the transition between school and university-level study.
