Durham University honours Ushaw College Librarian and Archivist Ushaw College's long-term Archivist and Librarian, Reverend Dr Michael Sharratt, was honoured during Durham's Winter Congregation celebrations. Professor Chris Higgins, Vice-Chancellor and Warden of Durham University, presented Dr Sharratt with an honorary Doctor of Letters at a ceremony in Durham Cathedral. Dr Sharratt was nominated by Professor Paul Murray, Professor of Systematic Theology and Dean and Director of the Centre for Catholic Studies and Jon Purcell, the University Librarian. Professor Murray said: "Dr Sharratt has made a significant scholarly contribution to UK Catholic intellectual life and a wider academic contribution in relation to the Ushaw libraries.
