A new Durham University project, which recreates the sounds St Cuthbert would have heard during the time that the Lindisfarne Gospels were being written, is to be officially launched as a sound installation and compact disc tomorrow at Durham Cathedral (Friday July 5). " In St Cuthbert's Time - A 7th Century Soundscape of Lindisfarne" is a project led by renowned sound recordist Chris Watson, who is currently a Fellow of the University's Institute of Advanced Study (IAS). It has been created to celebrate the exhibition of the Lindisfarne Gospels at Durham University's Palace Green Library. The installation will then run from Saturday 6 July to 30 September every day between 10am and 4pm in the Chapel of the Holy Cross at Durham Cathedral.
