Experts host BBC Stargazing LIVE events

More than 20 staff and students will join members of the public to learn more about the night sky where they live. All events in this national celebration are open to everyone, from amateurs to experts. The Kibble Palace in Glasgow's Botanical Gardens will host activities for the whole family, including short talks, exhibitions and public stargazing, whilst the Oran Mor will host a mobile planetarium. Martin Hendry, Head of the University of Glasgow's School of Physics and Astronomy, said: "We are very excited to be involved in BBC Stargazing LIVE once again and we hope the occasion will encourage people to look at their night sky in a different way." The events will begin at 4.30pm, ending around 9.30 pm. Stargazing is dependent on clear skies, however all other activities will go ahead as planned regardless of weather conditions.
