Former Vice-President of India to speak at ANU

The Australian National University (ANU) will welcome former Vice-President of India The Hon Mr Mohammad Hamid Ansari on Wednesday as he delivers a public lecture on the contributions and challenges of Islam in India. Mr Ansari served as Vice-President of India and Chairman of the Upper House of Indian Parliament from 2007 to 2017 and is only the second person to be elected twice as Vice-President. Mr Ansari has written extensively on politics in Asia including his book Teasing Questions: Exploring Disconnects in Contemporary India published in 2013. The public lecture titled India and Islamic Civilization: Contributions and Challenges will take place at Llewelyn Hall starting 6pm Wednesday 21 March.
